"Mid-fright"

Films: The Midnight Man (2016)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted Home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: It's all fun and games until said game is revealed to be one born of pure evil. And yet, people will still try to play anyway. Woe to those who dare awaken the beings whom these games were made for.

History: The Midnight Man is a powerful spirit that appears whenever anyone dares to play a certain game that goes on from midnight to 3:33 AM. Anyone who cannot do the rituals properly gets axed in horrific ways by the demon. It's waited to play another game for almost a century, and now, it's back again.

Notable Kills: Makes children explode in a shower of blood, forces a woman to slice herself, and rams his hand through a person's head.

Final Fate: It seems at first that the survivors have managed to get through the three hours required for the Midnight Man to lose, but then it's revealed that they were off by a few minutes, and the spirit claims victory. It is implied that someone else will play the game again...

Powers/Abilities: The Midnight Man can feed off your fear, and manipulate you into doing harmful things. That, and he's a bit on the invincible side.

Weakness: Salt, circles of salt/candles, winning the game.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-In addition to a ghastly appearance, the Midnight Man is violent even by spirit standards. Almost all deaths are insanely violent, and he's not above cheating to win the game. So next time, just go to bed after midnight. Save yourself the trouble.

Trivia: -This film is a remake of the 2013 "The Midnight Game", complete with similar premise.

-The tale of the Midnight Man is actually the subject of a Creepypasta, an internet-born horror story. One of the characters even calls the situation as such.
